For carcinomas T3a is tumor involving the serosa and /or adnexa (direct extension or metastasis)
For carcinomas T4 is tumor invading the bladder mucosa and /or bowel mucosa (bullous edema is not sufficient to classify a tumor as T4)
For colon or rectum N1 is defined as regional lymph node metastasis
For colon or rectum T1b is defined as tumor that is size 1-2 cm in greatest dimension
For colon or rectum T1 is defined as tumor that invades the lamina propria or submucosa and size 2 cm or less
For colon or rectum T2 is defined as tumor that invades the muscularis propria (left side) or size more than 2 cm with invasion of the lamina propria or submucosa (right side)

For colon or rectum T4 is defined as tumor that invades the peritoneum or other organs
For duodenum T1 is defined as tumor that invades lamina propria (left side) or submucosa (right side) and size 1 cm or less
For duodenum T2 is defined as tumor that invades muscularis propria or size greater than 1 cm
For stomach T4 is defined as tumor that invades visceral peritoneum (serosa) or other organs or adjacent structures
